Matted prints

Images are meticulously prepared for printing and will be 100% dust and scratch free. High resolution samples from a small part of your chosen image can be emailed to you prior to purchase if you would like to see the quality before you buy. An example from a 35mm camera image is shown below:

The image on the right is an enlargement of the red rectangle in the left hand image. Viewed at a screen resolution of 1152x864 it is approximately double the width it will be in a 16" paper print. (The medium format camera images are even more impressive).

Remember to quote print name and size and whether a matte is required. For customised prints the colour/paper type should also be specified.

Advice on framing:
To enjoy the true beauty of your print it needs to be sympathetically matted and framed.

I supply prints with a single window matte.( The example above has a double window matte). The window mount I supply is large enough to give a border of about 3" around A3+ prints, 2.5" around A3 prints and 2" around A4 prints. The width of the bottom border is increased by about 1/4 (i.e.. to 3.75" for an A3+ print, 3.1" for an A3 print and 2.5" for an A4 print). This is very important because it prevents a print from looking top heavy.
Black and white photographs look best in a simple understated frame. I prefer 1" wide gunmetal grey though brushed aluminium or black can work well depending on the tonality of the photograph.
